Mean world syndrome is a real thing that you should look into tbh. True crimes shows have created a strong culture of fear amongst people. If you are honestly picking a random fucking bear over a random guy then that’s just saying something incredibly sad about the world.

I get the point this makes about women fearing assault but honestly this outlook is incredibly toxic.

Congrats you have missed the point. Here’s the point. If a bear fucks you up then people are gonna blame the bear, no question. But if a man fucks you up, now you gotta deal with scrutiny. Did you deserve it? Are you just lying?

I remember a news story about a woman who went into a bear enclosure and a bear messed her up and how people were yelling at her.

Basically nothing you said is true but if you want to go get mauled by a bear please leave a note so it doesn’t waste search and rescue resources.

Not true at all. If I hear about someone being mauled by a bear, literally my first thought is “what did you do to provoke the bear?”.

Amber Heard is a pretty good recent example of what a lot of studies have shown for a long time - that quite a lot of domestic violence is mutual, rather than one abuser and one nonviolent victim.

No it’s not. There was a court preceding. They had there own conflict that wasn’t our business that everyone jumped into heavily and both sides came out smeared in shit.

But we have people being sycophants for people who don’t need your adoration but we’re sold on a side by news sites turning it into a culture war situation where we picked sides on something that shouldn’t have sides other than facts.

Every woman knows a woman who was raped, yet hardly any men know rapists. Weird how the numbers shake out, wonder why that is?

Surely if you sexually assaulted someone, you’d go around telling people about your great accomplishments.

I fully understand how they feel, I personally would also choose the bear over any of the women that would choose the bear.

Or, the stats on sexual harassment and assault suggest that most women (if not all of them) know a woman who was harassed or assaulted or were harassed or assaulted themselves.

But no it’s just media being mean to men. Surely the world is just ice cream and rainbows.

If you stumble across a grizzly, 9/10 times you’re dead. If you cross paths with a man, being generous, I’ll guess 1/ 300 times you’ll be assaulted.

No one is saying women don’t have a right to be wary, or feel unsafe but wtf.

Why’s it got to be a grizzly? Are we comparing the bears to meeting a murderer? You know there’s more than one kind of bear right? But also Grizzlies aren’t polar bears. They don’t see humans as prey and would rather just not as long as they, their cubs, or food aren’t threatened. As always the month before hibernation is a giant asterisk.

But we aren’t talking about angry guys or murderers so why would the bear be anything but the most common black bear?
