Jed Bartlett 2024!
He’s a right wing extremist. Like all libertarians.
He’s exactly what we think. Criticizes international bodies, aligns with Trump, Bolsonaro, and Netanyahu. He silences critics and uses force against unions.
Yup, I acknowledge that it’s in development hell.
No he just likes McDonald’s
Yes and no. On the other side they’ve essentially rebooted development something like 3 or 4 times. So there’s a chance it comes up roses.
It is, it’s also in alpha still. If they were claiming beta in this state I’d be more worried rather than just mad they keep adding stupid shit instead of going full optimization. They have a game, they just need to get it out the door and worry about content in future releases. It’s like the painter who can’t call a painting finished.
I’m proud to be the one to start the fire this time. To be clear I do really want a good game out of all this.
Same here, I loved the idea of a walk on space game I could play with friends. I loved the idea of ground side fights and boarding actions.
But now we’ve got some kind of super high fidelity survival game. If you can even run it it’s far more akin to an first person POV EVE.
My family will not play Stratego with me anymore. I buy hotels, and stay out of Australia in Risk, so they’ll play other board games with me still.
Star Citizen is in this picture. They added hunger and dehydration to a space exploration, cargo, and fighting game.
I and a few others have been trying to tell people that Gaza is already in the dying phase. That the UN and IPC have said Northern Gaza is in famine and Southern Gaza is “imminent”. But nobody has wanted to listen. Just recently we found out that USAID made the same assessment and assessed that Israel was restricting calories on purpose. But Blinken and Biden ignored that assessment to effectively clear Israel for military aid.
And this isn’t done yet. When they dig that rubble out they’re going to find more bodies. That’s part of why Israel wants to officially occupy Gaza again. If we ever get a real number that might actually make them a parish state.
It sure can be. It’s one way to make sure it leads to a real peace process instead of Hamas giving up the remaining hostages and then getting nothing but a couple days of no fighting.
And yeah, that’s why I’m worried. I’m not sure Biden realizes there’s a line there. He’s sure not doing anything to keep from approaching that line.
Where they tried to revert the rogue state founded by terrorists who drove the British out and as many Palestinians as they could? Oh no, such badness.
But no Hezbollah was founded during Israel’s long occupation of Southern Lebanon, where Israel explicitly tried Soviet tactics to expand, by extending their civil services to Southern Lebanese in good standing with Israel.
Well yes, because Israel still occupies Lebanese land.
In Afghanistan and Iraq we already knew that bombing people was not how you get rid of ideas. That’s why we spent 20 and 10 years (respectively) in those countries. We weren’t bombing anything if we could help it. And in Iraq we managed to put in a semi-stable government. In Afghanistan we managed to push the majority of the fighting into the mountains, away from most civilian population centers. We just straight screwed up the civil part afterwards.
We learned that bombing doesn’t kill morale in World War 1, World War 2, Korea, and Vietnam. Vietnam is the last time we tried carpet bombing civilian populations, and is often cited as the reason we developed the guided bomb kits, small diameter bombs, and even kamikaze drones that specifically do not explode and cause as little disturbance as possible other than people they directly impact.
This has been a learned lesson with a known solution for decades.
Time and again he has repeated their propaganda, even when our own intelligence agencies said Israel was lying. He always talks about a ceasefire, but every time Netanyahu moves the goalposts at the last minute, (usually by adding Hamas’ known deal breaker that IDF troops would remain afterwards), Biden blames Hamas. Biden and Blinken have ignored evidence of war crimes from their own agencies that disqualify Israel for military aid. Now he’s surged troops into the region, and he isn’t using them to evacuate the 6,000 Americans who have asked for help leaving Lebanon.
Where does it stop? We think it has to just based on rationality but we made that mistake with Bush. We thought that a clear trial of the facts in Congress would either give him the moral authority to conduct the war or shut it all down and he just ignored that part of the AUMF. Like Biden has just ignored any evidence against Israel, even regarding the ICC. So I ask again, where does this train stop? What evidence do we have that he’s working to restrain Netanyahu and prevent a wider war being kicked off by the obvious belligerent?
If Netanyahu can get an open war between Israel and Iran before Jan 20th then Biden will absolutely commit ground forces to fighting that. Which is going to mean counter insurgency or even frontline work in Iraq again.
This is actually indicative of follow up strikes. A war crime meant to discourage health workers from evacuating wounded after an air or artillery strike. It’s not something that just randomly happens.
Yeah, we’re saying the same thing. I’ve never met a libertarian that wasn’t in favor of Corporate Feudalism.
