Nah. Disagree. One of the very few things that could actually knock him and his ilk out of power is to make the average Russian Federation citizen’s life kinda suck. Internal revolt is a very real threat to them. There are a LOT of partisans in Russia, and they have a LOT of land to guard various important pieces of infrastructure against tampering and interference. The endgame isn’t “be a dick to Russians”. The endgame is “provide a negative incentive to Russians just sitting on their ass just acquiescing and not trying to wrest control of their government from the hands of their kleptocrats”.

To be clear: I’m not advocating for violence against Russian civilians at home or abroad. I AM advocating for refusing to trade ANYTHING with Russia. If they want to be a global pariah so bad, they need to get the full experience.

It sucks, for sure. As an American, I went through this back in 2016, and in the years since - with another notable wave occurring after January 6th.

It’s frustrating, but I genuinely do feel a moral duty to aggressively shun and abuse fascists, no matter how long I’ve known them or how I’m related to them before I found out.

For real, I expect the troubles to become a thing again if the elections get weird again this time.

I expect similar things in a lot of places if the rise of authoritarianism and fascism doesn’t stop.
