I’d consider the most basic case to be, specifically, the “quotes for verbatim results”, which definitely do not work anymore. Neither does + for a positively (hue hue) required term, a close second.

To be fair, back in the day you could get better results by relying on Google with site:foobar and the Boolean/“power user” stuff. A lot of built-in search boxes on sites were a bit dodgy, or at least less flexible than AND/OR/NOT and other “power user tricks”.

Of course, these days those seem to be ignored wholesale and even “verbatim quotes” are an utter crapshoot, this was back when Google didn’t fucking blow.

N64 is my favorite console of all time, but yeah, the controller is truly batshit insane. I even had a game that intended you to hold the left and right… prongs instead of center right. In a shocking twist, it was… still pretty awkward.

I do like PS5 controllers - mostly play N64 games on them, never even owned a PS. Used a PS4 controller before that.

Dpad for games that were intended for dpad, analog if the game was intended for analog.

Analog for dpad games feels awkward in my experience, and dpad for analog games is not even an option.

Sure. They’re so “far left” (Marxist-Leninist, allegedly) they’re all the way up an unrepentant, fascistic, oligarchic, autocratic, right wing dictator’s asshole. Presumably the “logic” is that at least Russia used to be communist, and isn’t “amerikkka” (staggeringly witty stuff, huh?), but it’s pretty clear they’re just trolls - or nearly undistinguishable from trolls. That is not effort I’d recommend wasting on their dumb asses.

I’ve seen this without the slur, but it’s still weird that people are out here trying to redefine specific, well-defined, unambiguous, basic, and universal English terms. Not as a metaphor, not even as a bit, or attempted point (luckily, as it wouldn’t have been a good one), just using a term in a way apparently nobody else ever does.
