  • So tiktok for the fediverse…

Listen, I’m all for open sourcing stuff and I’m all for the fediverse and all. I just don’t understand why one would want a fediverse tiktok.

    • Short form content is addictive af and doesn’t add anything of substance to society.
    • Video hosting is expensive. Peertube is already struggling. How do you expect to financially sustain video hosting that is addictive to the user (which means more consumption) without running ads? Paywalling it won’t be an option due to the network effect as well.

Oh definitely. Canonical forcing us to use snap Firefox was very shitty. I mean I still use Ubuntu because I’m lazy, but I did change the snap Firefox thing to the apt libraries or whatever.

I really don’t understand why they don’t just adopt flatpak.

I have NODE installed using snap lmao. Why? Installing it the normal way just gives me tons of errors that I’m too bored to deal with. I’m sure there’s a fix, but I’m too lazy to debug all that. Of course, I don’t use snap node for hosting servers and stuff. I just use it for react native. Regardless, it works n I’m happy lol

I’m glad that u made the switch, but I’m a little skeptical about ur choice of distro. I tried Garuda like 2 years ago. Barely lasted 3 months on it.

Garuda’s KDE DE was incredibly buggy, the wifi would get disconnected constantly and so on. Also, getting any support for it (on forums n stuff like that) was very hard. I made the choice to switch back to Ubuntu. Everything works out of the gate, n if u face any problem it almost always will have a solution posted up on Stack overflow.

But again, if u’r happy with Garuda, good for u! However, it is not representative of the Linux experience. If u find it to be a pain in the ass, it does not mean that all of Linux is a problem haha.

  • Most cis sportswomen have naturally elevated “masculine” hormones. Trans women see many physical changes (like fat redistribution and changes in muscle n fat mass) after commencing hormone therapy. Therefore, the “advantage” that they have over cis women is negligible. It is in fact comparable to the advantage that some cis women have over other cis women (the hormone thing that I mentioned in my first sentence).

But no, being assholes towards trans people is cool, and there clearly aren’t other issues to worry about. /s
