“Move Along Home” would work so much better as a Doctor Who episode. Has a kind of absurdity that is perfect for Who, but stands out in a bad way in Trek.
I have thought ‘Move Along Home’ was great since first broadcast.
DS9 hadn’t yet locked into its eventual tone, but I hold to my view that it’s an episode that wouldn’t have raised the ire of the ‘Dignity of Trek’ on just about any of the other shows in the franchise.
I don’t think I’d call it “great,” but I don’t think it’s nearly as bad as many people think.
It suffers most from a visibly limited budget, and the fact that it occurs so early in the series that the actors hadn’t really found their characters yet.
I’d love to visit the alternate universe in which it’s a season four episode.
