Genuinely, how do you guys still exist?

Obviously just my opinion, but a modern editor like VS code does everything better and if you want to go the other way vim does everything and more. I just don’t see why someone chooses notepad++ any time after about 2010

I use vscode for project work. I use notepad++ for general notes and all other ad-hoc editing. I feel like my workspace would be too cluttered otherwise.

If notepad is enough for OP (who are probably just editing .txt files), VSCode will be an overkill

NPP is great for all sorts of things, not just code. Im sure Vim is fine but I dont care to learn it, it looks like a pain in the ass to learn. People don’t make memes about how to exit NPP.

Notepad++ has a certain classic “Back when Windows was cool” appeal.

VSCode is cumbersome with a photoshop-like startup and a welcome screen and project manager and blah blah blah for just wanting to see “What’s in this file real quick…”

I used to like Atom while that was still a thing.

Now for taking notes or editing simple files, it’s always Kate. Follows my dark theme too! :D
