Mhm, I think they must be 100% sure somebody is in actual danger though? They can’t just try and shoot somebody who has an alleged knife right?

What the actual fuck
Thanks. This is more along the lines of what I’m interested in.
A custom made board for this increases the difficulty and size of this operation by a lot.
Sometimes the police from the USA go to Europe to learn how to handle these situations without murder. And European police sometimes go to the USA to learn how to handle gun situations.
This would not have happened anywhere outside of the USA, not even in dangerous countries. Just my 2c
I know protecting the public is not technically their job
It literally is the main job.
Not sure that falls under “intercepted”
How would this message trigger the explosive?
Taking control of a shipping container, opening all of pagers and adding some explosives is obvious and not too hard for people with that power.
Replacing all the chips, or hacking their firmware, is different, and is what I’m asking about.
Most bombs that use a phone as the trigger use the speaker for example. But in these pagers that would have already set off loads.
Well yes but then you’d have to send all those messages, not too hard for a big organisation, but to make a specific message trigger it you would have to do something to the chips on it. And that’s what I’m wondering.
I wonder about the technical part of this.
Was it timer based?
Was it based upon which number sent a message?
A lot of the ideas I have would require a huge technical operation, instead of the “just added explosives” angle.
I’ve been in a similar situation where some agents from the anti terrorism brigade came to my door. Sometimes you just have to shut up and work with them how they see fit.
Nobody was body-slammed, nobody was disrespected, nobody was being held longer than necessary or with excessive force.
This isn’t a situation to turn into hate towards the police. Just get over it and don’t be a fucking asshole.
Go ahead.
It isn’t black and white. Get over it.
So neither were vaxed?
I don’t understand why you’d prefer the possibility of danger over somebody being cuffed for 2 minutes.
The cops didn’t take that away.
The person who swatted him did.
Sure it does. I hate the police and thousands of their stupid rules, but them temporary cuffing you when they are assessing whether or not there is actual danger is just how it goes. If you watch the video, you can see he was only cuffed for 2 minutes.
Germany does try and track these people down and throws them in jail: https://www.vice.com/de/article/erstes-deutsches-swatting-hohe-freiheitsstrafe-fuer-drachenlord-hater/
Even if a streamer is a big target, and the police is aware, they will still go and check it out. It’s an inconvenience for everybody involved, but it’s still the best way to go about it. The only thing that can really be done is to track the people making the calls, or I think in this case an email? Anyways, in Germany you can get jail time for doing this, and they do try and track them down.
$5 for a domain and $30 for a year of hosting is actually very cheap for a simple starter website.
Yes I want to know more.
