It has gone so wrong because liberalism has failed. We need political movements which serve the people, not the corporations.

These “uber commands” tend to be much better since they are more explorable with --help
explanations and readable flags.
Much better than the random jumble of characters you’re expected to have memorised for awk, sed, find et al.
This is a good way to realise that you don’t need a function for that use case.
Are you confused because there’s more than one person in the world called Linus??
No, you missed the homeless encampments, forest fires and car centric cities.
There’s no apt install utopia
.
My proudest moment was getting a PR with typo fixes for PyPI docs merged 😂
Does one really need another dependency for this? Is cookiecutter/cruft not enough?
Nice if you use Django, are OK with the directory structure and don’t use Poetry. It feels like a decent personal project but not very generalizable.
Yes I’m following Huak, it looks promising. But as Spott says, just because a tool exists, its not the same as having the tool which is fully supported, standardised and everyone uses.
IMO Python could have this but as the posted article discusses there is no movement or will to make it happen.
It would be interesting to hear what you mean about the lock file being updated. Many Poetry commands should and do touch the lock, like poetry add
or poetry update
, but of course poetry install
should leave it untouched.
Our organisation has gone all in on Poetry, no regrets so far. The UX and dlscoverability is just so much better than the other options.
I do look jealously at languages that have great official tools like go
and cargo
though.
You fucking heathen! I only use !
Their vision is to evolve it into a “Cargo for Python”, so it’s coming.
