  • This happened to us, somewhat. We basically found the house ourselves and the process was streamlined enough that the agent barely needed to do anything except schedule dates like inspection, closing, etc. I know they are supposed to protect the buyer and make sure nothing fishy happens, and I’m sure they were doing that in the background (nothing bad happened overall), but boy was it one of the easiest commissions they probably got.

  • I just saw a video a couple of days ago about one of those children who was adopted by an American family sometime in the 70s. The family gave him up to foster care within 6 years like he was a toy that you could just throw away when you don’t want it anymore. The worst part is they didn’t file his paperwork correctly so he was never naturalized. When he tried to correct it as an adult, he was deported instead because the background check that was triggered found a previous conviction as a teen (broke into his abusive 3rd foster family’s house to get his things). He couldn’t assimilate back in Korea and ended up moving to Mexico because the culture was more familiar.

  • The only barrier to entry is creating a usb installer. Once you’re past that, there’s nothing more than basic computer knowledge to do what you need to do. By basic, I mean knowing how to use a computer, so you should be good. Just choose a user friendly distro like Mint and you won’t need to open the terminal at all unless something really bad happens.
