1 year agoThe issue with revolutions is that while they tend to get rid of old elites, they create a new class of elites out of the top revolutionaries and the cycle just starts over again. Many communist revolutions were supposed to create these theoretically “equal” societies, but they just insert in a new ruling class.
I don’t.
But ever since the rise of civilization (and the end of the most hunter gatherer societies), it is impossible to prevent the rise of a ruling class. Violent revolutions bring about some change but it’s never going to change ape behavior or destroy the core of civilization, which is a class system. True equality will come only from people choosing not to participate in the system of civilization and making do in small communes.
