This is me when I’m medicated - no distracting lights or sounds, just ambient music, something to fidgit with, and my task.

You are correct. And yet, many of these morons hold positions of power over our lives. Reality often requires discretion.

Its becoming a common term that you likely won’t face much pushback over, I just personally take issue with it in regards to ADHD.

There are many people that see the perscribed stimulants we use to medicate, as no different then the ones which are often abused to get high. Essentially, that we’re drug addicts. I’ve dealt with them before.

When you’re medicated with stimulants, telling people that you’re “stimming” doesn’t really help to dissuade the negative connotations.

While it would be nice to disregard those people, many that I’ve dealt with have been in critical positions, such as managers, or on one occasion, even a doctor.

As frustrating as it is, optics matter.

God, I hate the term stimming. Sounds too much like stimulants.

This sounds a lot like my experience. I’ve been debating going back, and hearing others have been able to accomplish it alleviates some of my concerns.

Considering how much medication can help, uh, yeah, do those things. Its a trivial inconvenience compared to living unmedicated.

Also 5k is a lot, maybe if you’re uninsured? Hell, getting an uninsured MRI is cheaper than that. And health insurance is kind of a must for living with a disability.

Don’t like sentiments like this. I feel like it prevents people from getting the help they need.
