Kodi/LibreELEC + JellyCon add-on works great!
Millennium Editions ruin everything!! 🤬
When looking up my static ip, the location I get is the one of my ISP, not my address. Do you happen to live nearby some central infrastructure of your ISP? (If it seems otherwise, I’m not trying to debunk what you said - I’m just asking curious questions!)
A bit less simple, but for a great solution, you could host a jellyfin server and give each friend their own user account in order to then use the syncplay feature.

Got any recommendations for a good DAS with a fair price, either new or used?
I’m looking for something to place three 22 TB drives in, eventually to be expanded in the future, so I’m looking for a DAS with at least three 3.5" bays.
-Linux Mint: […] not the best […] if you have multiple monitors with different resolutions and refresh rates.
I’m thinking of installing Mint (Debian Edition) on a 2013 MacBook Pro with an even older external monitor connected through DisplayPort, while using the internal Retina as the secondary monitor.
Do you think it’d be a safer bet to go with a different distro with better multi-monitor compatibilities, or do you think I’ll be good using this hardware+software combo?
Any related advice will be appreciated!
I’m not the guy, and this is not really an information source, but Android seems to agree that higher resolution and higher refresh rate uses more power, which seems intuitive to me as well.

It refers to some old forum signature iirc. I saw an explanation of it in some other Lemmy thread some time ago, though I don’t exactly remember where or when.
Woah, it’s been years since the last time I lost the game! Thanks, I guess?
I misread “the world bum”
The term “keming” is sometimes used informally to refer to poor kerning (the letters r and n placed too close together being easily mistaken for the letter m).
I’ve only touched a Euronet ATM to write “SCAM” on it, to warn those unaware of the dangers awaiting them…
I live in Europe, and when I withdraw from ATMs when traveling in Germany, I only use “trusted” ATMs like official banks (never Euronet or other “scam” ATMs), but because it’s outside of my own country, it’ll cost ~5€ per withdrawal. In my own country I don’t pay, no matter which bank’s ATM I use.
Thanks for teaching me the abbreviation EFTPOS.
My dad is still among us, even though I grew up with his take on it, loosely translated:
Early awake, early asleep. That brings health to every weeb.
It’s possible that he already translated it from English (your dad’s saying or an unknown variation of it), and that I’ve now translated it back to English, for each translation moving a bit further away from the original meaning in order to keep it rhyming. (I wrote “weeb” to make it rhyme, my dad’s version said “boy”.)
Or get the opposite; a leaf vacuum. They seem way more useful to me than the ones that blow.
It’s not entirely impossible that a driver for the touchscreen actually exists.
If you connect to Jellyfin through Kodi with the JellyCon add-on, you can sync audio, subtitles etc. when it’s playing.
While it’s possible to navigate through your Jellyfin libraries from within the Jellycon add-on in Kodi, I usually find it quicker to just use the Jellyfin app or webapp on phone/pc to find the desired media, then “cast” it to the active Kodi client. The Kodi client will then play it directly from the server, no video data is going through the casting device.
