I waddled onto the beach and stole found a computer to use.

Note: I’m moderating a handful of communities in more of a caretaker role. If you want to take one on, send me a message and I’ll share more info :)
I also saw a post about a portainer alternative, anyone know others?
Monitor (docs.monitor.mogh.tech) (from the other site)
DockGe from the other post
Looks like it’s popular, from the other post
Features are more limited, no environment variables yet I don’t think
Oh I don’t mind it, I like the post :)
I was thinking that there might be a lot of Lemmy users working in such roles, without a place (that I know of) to share those stories
Oh, we do have a !talesfromtechsupport
community (link). Looks like the mod is inactive and the community doesn’t have that many subscribers
Maybe we can try making a new one here on programming.dev
See more updates from the rescue center over in !marinemammalrescue@lemmy.ca
The article is nice, but I’m not sure if I’d send it to friends that aren’t familiar with the fediverse. It seems to gloss over some problems and focus less relevant ones
It doesn’t touch on the issues with Blueskys protocol and makes it sound like an equivalent choice (or worse, a better choice). In the downsides section it touches on racism in badly moderated instances, and the difficulty of setting up an instance. Those issues aren’t relevant to the vast majority of users who will join a large instance that has defederated from the bad stuff.
It’s a nice article for those who are already somewhat familiar, but a bad first impression
I’ve seen some dashboards around, is this what you’re looking for?
We also just spun up a new community for the MMR patients
Feel free to join :)
No worries! I didn’t read it properly until after I already left a comment. I was too excited to share lol
I think both Lemmy and Boost have this functionality, although there have been some bugs in Lemmy web UI after the recent update
For Boost, hit the share button on the post and then “Cross-Post, Post to Lemmy”
edit: Unless you mean posting in a few communities all at once, which I agree would be cool
I like !privacyguides@lemmy.one because the project is behind it
Whenever friends ask about resources, I always link them to the privacyguides website. I should use their community more as well
Ah yes that makes sense! Yea definitely use whichever method works for you :)
I’m not sure if the local sort also includes non-local content that you’re subscribed to, but it should work great when starting out without any subscriptions. If you haven’t already, this tool is great for finding communities
Welcome! The first few days have some extra learning, but you’ll find that lots of people have mostly or entirely replaced Reddit here. My thoughts:
Set your sort to ‘scaled’. I find that this gives me a nice mix of posts from large and small communities. I don’t quite remember which sorting option it was, but early on I was also dealing with an unchanging feed and the culprit was the sorting option.
keep an eye out for other communities you’re interested in. There are fewer users on any particular community here, but its less of an issue if you subscribe to more places. !communitypromo@lemmy.ca for example, you can subscribe to it to passively find out about other communities
Yes local is supposed to show posts from your home instance’s communities only. I don’t have much use for it, but it can be useful on topic focussed instances.
I’m not actually sure if this is the case, supposedly the official app was having issues as well. Sounds like Reddit broke something again
I believe a few apps got exceptions, but I don’t remember which.
Redreader looks open source and it seems to be working. It’s a lot more limited, which might be a good thing
I look forward to it as well!
good note, edited

Karim Khan said that he believes Netanyahu, his defense minister Yoav Gallant and three Hamas leaders — Yehia Sinwar, Mohammed Deif and Ismail Haniyeh — are responsible for war crimes and crimes against humanity in the Gaza Strip and Israel.
The prosecutor must request the warrants from a pre-trial panel of three judges, who take on average two months to consider the evidence and determine if the proceedings can move forward.
Israel is not a member of the court, and even if the arrest warrants are issued, Netanyahu and Gallant do not face any immediate risk of prosecution. But Khan’s announcement deepens Israel’s isolation as it presses ahead with its war, and the threat of arrest could make it difficult for the Israeli leaders to travel abroad.
Both Sinwar and Deif are believed to be hiding in Gaza as Israel tries to hunt them down. But Haniyeh, the supreme leader of the Islamic militant group, is based in Qatar and frequently travels across the region.
So it looks like this study was questionable for a number of reasons

There may be better studies that weren’t mentioned in the link
Yea it’s a bit redundant now
I’ve still kept mine up, along with the post explaining it, because I think they look nice in the sidebar. I haven’t added them to any new communities however
