Linux@lemmy.ml•[Tool] Privacy-focused AUR Malware Audit Tool (Atomic Arch Incident)
6·23 days agoI would recommend to firstly check the update window for the package. It seems that these packages only contained the malware PKGBUILD for a certain time period, before the commit was reverted back by the arch/air devs.
Then if you find youself infected, try
- Rotating the stored passwords on chromium/electron based browsers/apps.
- Rotate keys, (SSH, Cloud, Github etc).
- Backup your files, this is not a virus, so the file are safe.
- Reinstall the system from a live USB.
- FINALLY Nuke your house with a Hydrogen bomb.

Linux@lemmy.ml•Malicious Atomic Arch NPM Campaign Thread
6·23 days agoAnalyzing the commit history of
libdata, you can see the attacker pushed the malicious PKGBUILD on Jun 11, 2026 14.59 GMT. And it was reverted back to the previous commit on the same day, about 2.5 hours later, on Jun 11, 2026 at 17:30 GMT.So it seems like if you updated the libgdata package during this period, your system might be affected.
Edit: Commit history: https://github.com/archlinux/aur/activity?ref=libgdata
Am I missing something? Care to explain please

There is a new fork of syncthing. It aims to be minimal with most of the heavy lifting done by the familiar web gui

Yes, I would like to use this as an alternative to syncthing. Arch Linux and Android. So how the phone should be connected? Do I need to open my phone’s SSH port?

linuxmemes@lemmy.world•We can just do the adult check thing the usual way.
111·4 months agoI recently read an article from the creaters of PopOS. In that they raise a vaild point. If a child installs a virtualization software (say with the concent of an adult for educational purposes), then they can but browse internet through the VM, with them being the root user, pretending to be adults. It defeats the whole purpose of such verification methods. So their plan would to stick with ID based ones.
I think this was never about age verification, but to uniquely fingerprint every person using internet and to keep accountability.
Lets face it, the internet you knew is dead.
I am in the exact pipeline. But instead of mint, I used zorin for a year. Now on EOS from Fedora.
What the fuck is a reactOS?
