In all seriousness, the professional military here in Estonia is actually pretty good. I reckon both sides would have something to learn from eachother.

Rather have a few hundred or even thousand American troops chilling out at Tapa than a special military operation from across the border personally. Having American troops here used to be a better deterrent than any amount of weaponry because it meant an attack here is also an attack against the US military even without NATO article 5 being invoked. Now with Trump in charge? Who knows what would even happen.

From what I’ve heard, the foreign troops have always been pretty chill too. Haven’t heard of any serious problems.

Fun fact: The name of the town where American and British troops mostly stay is literally the Estonian word “Kill”. There’s a joke that their newspaper during the occupation was called “Tapa kommunist” (kill a/the communist) and later “Tapa edasi” (keep killing) but that’s untrue apparently.

I actually had Opus help me out but tbf it was a simple reconciliation between 3 or 4 data sources. Essentially, when I fired my ex I accidentally paid her too much but had accidentally corrected the books to the correct amount so it showed as if I’d overpaid on taxes. I had not. Taxes were correct on what was actually paid out.

This is not a simple US vs rest of the world distinction. Long scale and short scale are both used in multiple countries and multiple languages. My own country uses short scale but with billion replaced by milliard so it goes miljon, miljard, triljon, kvadriljon. Then India has lakh (1,00,000) and crore (1,00,00,000). No, the two zeroes between commas weren’t a mistake.

I happen to personally know some professional athletes (track and field not team sports tho)

They do altitude training because performing in high altitude is so rough it gives an advantage when you’re back on normal altitudes. Different theories on why it works but it does seem to.

Thing is people have different ways of thinking, not all of them verbal. Might’ve switched over.

To be fair they’ll sell you goods even if you don’t speak the language and they oftentimes won’t really want foreigners in their business.

The culture is a bit too xenophobic. Which doesn’t mean all Chinese people are or that it’s unique to China, but it’s definitely an issue.

The real reason to learn Mandarin is just in case they start playing the imperialism game once the US falls.

Google and Facebook in particular aren’t selling your data, they’re selling the service of showing ads to people who are likely to purchase those things.

The average website that has 800 close friends to share data with is trying to figure out who their target demographic is so they know which demographic to pay Google to advertise to… Or they’re also selling ad space.

So it’s targeted advertisements either way, just different angles

The local government doesn’t pay for the data centers electricity though, at least not directly. This is their rate going up so they ask their public facilities to save energy. It’s a reasonable response from them, but they should have prevented it by not allowing so many data centers.

Locally, not necessarily true. Globally, almost definitely.

But I was led to believe this is all for Europeans’ benefit, letting cheap BYDs flood the market.

Now it turns out Chinese companies have horrible working conditions. I never would’ve predicted this!
