I wonder if we can find a way to either hit it multiple times, or break it so it won’t stop ringing.
What this post doesn’t tell you, dear reader, is how Frostpunk will kick you in the dick repeatedly and you’ll learn to like it. It is a fascinating and difficult game, and not one to take lightly if you struggle separating digital game characters from real life empathy.
The benefit of automating is really measured in hair loss and extra time to grab another coffee.
I feel it’s rather fair to give them a pass on this one. Games with a player base and longer than a passing fart of time in the market? Sure. This was a failed product. They issued refunds. This is a situation where pushing your luck just backs someone into a corner.
We can hope they’ll flip the assets and remodel into another title.
It’s politics. You could have some shoplifting charge from 40 years ago and people will yell about how you’re the worst and attempt to invalid everything you do because of it.
Joined Aug. 22nd, 2024. First post was expressing desire to be a moderator in a communism sub. Expresses support for nations like China specifically when in relation to Taiwan. Supports other odd situations and events. Has a name “JohnBrown”. If it wasn’t for the fact that you’re so unlikeable, I’d make an argument that you’re a plant to try and twist narratives and convince communities of certain ideologies.
I’ve had it for AGES. I agree that ads have been a bit much and many websites almost unusable without Origin. YT Premium though has been fairly solid with a couple hiccups.
Admittedly, I use YouTube as my primary source of entertainment. So the price is easily justified vs other services.
tldr: Flaw can give a hacker access to your computer only if they have already bypassed most of the computer’s security.
This means continue not going to sketchy sites.
Continue not downloading that obviously malicious attachment.
Continue not being a dumbass.
Proceed as normal.
Because if a hacker got that deep your system is already fucked.
Thank you for a level response. In the U.S. especially there are fear and anger knees jerks to some situations where a calm response is an absolute necessity. As always, there is more nuance than there appears.
Important to remind everyone that a LOT of your negative memories and feelings surrounding OW1 and 6v6 were due to the migraine magnets called 2cp. Literally a stand in the choke for 9 years and see who correctly uses every Q under the sun correctly first.
I worked with a company some time ago contracted in as support services as they weren’t equipped (see: trained) to work with individuals with barriers. My job was to support those they had hired and get staff up to speed on how best to work with them. I’m of the opinion they were doing fine given that they had a fully blind not-from-birth individual working for them and doing great but hey, paycheck. Part of my service was to identify areas that need improvement. Sometimes this is often crowded doorways, or floor obstacles, and shelving that is too high/deep/unstable, etc.
So I’m there working with staff and leadership to get them up to ramming speed, we reach comfortable threshold, my time is done. Off the clock I request a meeting to speak with them about some potential improvements. You see, at this particular location they utilized a color-coded system for everything. This was to support individuals with dyslexia and poor reading comprehension. Pretty cool, right? They had come up with a way to minimize issues for people who may not even want to admit they have barriers. Some of you may already know where this is going.
In my report and the meeting I outlined a major flaw that was costing them employees and they did not even know it. You’d be surprised how many people are colorblind and don’t even know it themselves. So in my report I pointed out that along with typical shorthand and their color system, which they should absolutely keep, they should add simple symbols. Circle for yellow, triangle for red, square for blue, etc. I also pointed out that they could also consider adding single indents that match with colors and symbols, which would support older populations and individuals with ocular degenerative diseases. Basically open themselves up fully to a population other employers turn down.
Last I checked they had implemented these changes, or some variation(s), and word came back that they were receiving TOO many applications with most of their workforce having one or more barriers that would normally force them into some larger financial assistance structure, with all the red tape and bullshit that comes with it, cause boy are the limitations and expectations in these programs bonkers at times.
Point being that even those who have put thought into solutions for problems they themselves don’t have, it is specifically because they don’t have the same limitations that solutions are often half finished. Some people, and yes some institutions, try to do what they can. At the end of the day some fixes are better than none at all. More can always be added later.
Is this still a thing? I could have sworn it fell away like ten years ago.
Then again, I wasn’t sure certain types of pants would ever come back. RETURN TO US, JNCO!
Maybe. Though I say we just come together, get his ass in, and then in the first year also get his ass out and let the VP or Speaker step in. Like it or not, changing now IS risky and it is arguable whether it’s the better choice. I’ll go with what the majority chooses because fighting against Trump and the GOP is what’s important.
Let me repeat: We are in the game where we must do what the Republicans do and come together against a common enemy. So I recommend everyone agree on a candidate then shut up and checkmark that box. We can go back to verbally juxtaposing our positions through digital larping, or whatever it is we do when most of us forget politics exist for four years.
My favorite little story was while working short-term at a company. Had some issues, did my normal troubleshooting steps and Google searches, identified what I felt the issue was and knew I wouldn’t have enough access to fix it. Reached out and got a response “Blah blah blaaah schedule blah blah Remote-In.”
Later on he sent me a message and remotes into my computer. I take control quick, open up notepad, and type out “Hi!”
To this day I swear that little show earned me more difficult fake phishing attempts. Which I mention because he specifically told me one day he had experience in the information security sector. Lo’ and behold!
I embarrassed the COO of a large organization once in front of approximately half of that organization’s management. Managed to get away with it. So yes, I can say with some certainty that being able to stand up and freely express yourself is character building and, frankly, fucking awesome.
I mean have them and have working “them” are entirely different monsters.
I just fired up Donkey Kong Country recently after lowkey bragging about how I knew all the secrets, despite playing it last years ago. Partner was like, “Aight. Show.”
“Kay”
And to my surprise I still remember where everything is and breezed past all except one level so far.
And you all know which fucking level that was.
I mean I ain’t stopping you. The Chinese guys though? They wouldn’t give a flying shit. Which is good because that’s what would be happening in the stall as they bust down the door.
That is shit, but also just a little funny.
Then again I love Dark Souls so this may just be the ptsd talking.
