I think the final boss of Metroid Dread feels like a proper Souls boss, but a much easier one than most Souls bosses. Which is fine, it was fun and well designed.

That sucks, I’ve heard so much good about Deadlock’s gameplay, but that playerbase is exactly what I expected.

To me, a good Souls games make you feel an exhilarating level of thrill and satisfaction from beating a tough boss that no other game does.

Beating the final boss of Sekiro, Nine Sols, Lies of P, and Silksong was a feeling no other game could provide. I am constantly looking forward to the next big Souls games that create that level of challenge that both feels impossibly hard, but yet you know you can do it and can see the path to winning if you keep trying.

I played League for many years when it came out. I think the genre is fun to play, requires lots if skill, but I am only willing to take so much verbal abuse for what is supposed to be time I spend for fun.

Funny you say that, I mostly swapped to eating cocktail peanuts as my salty snack of choice. They are more filling, so I don’t overeat and are definitely healthier than chips.

I’m that way with Pringles. I look at it and it looks like a giant tube of chips that should ideally last many days, but I can easily eat over half the tube in one sitting if I’m not being conscious of how many I’m eating at a time.

Its free unlike Concord, so having a large number of launch players is not surprising. Keeping them is the real challenge.

I heard someone say the new logo is easier to read on phones. I expect they wanted a logo that was legible on your tiny, vertical phone screen. I can see them ending up with this if that was the goal, but this ain’t it.

Like with what happened to Kbin, I think it’s great that we have 3 ongoing projects doing roughly the same thing. So if one is them dies out, we can just swap to the others. As a user invested in the threadverse, I think this is a net positive.

This game could have easily been another Marvel Rivals. An absolute success using its strong IPs in a game type that is underrepresented. There’s no other big name doing Smash Bros style combat, and definitely not outside of Nintendo’s platform. The elements were all there to make this a successful game, but they completely blew the execution.

Mercury bears love them. You not so much.
