  • The apps are fine, it’s content quality and quantity which can only happen organically. You can’t force an increase in quantity and keep quality high. Plus the fediverse is a fairly new concept with new issues that arise as it scales up. By it’s very nature the fediverse cannot react and change quickly so a slow growth allows for communities to try their own solutions and eventually settle on a more universal fix.

It’s so bad, it feels like using an ipad. Notifications are buggy as hell and you can’t even disable notification center with terminal like you could on x86 macs. I’m keeping an eye on Asahi linux but it seems a little too rough to be daily driveable yet.

Sort of unrelated but the apple support threads are all infuriating because they never answer the question. They embody the “it’s not a bug” motto until it’s clear there is a bug at which point they just say apple must be fixing it soon and to just keep your computer updated.

The gurus normal people trust have this pesky tendency to have advanced degrees and call themselves things like “doctors” and “therapists” as if either is better than being screamed at by a car salesman in a room full of sweaty divorces.

Your lungs can compress to equalize the pressure as you go deeper and expand as you come back up. As long as you start with ambient pressure air in your lungs you won’t have issues.

The problem is breathing against the external pressure, you need gas pressure to help expand your lungs again after you exhale. The regulator keeps the air pressure equal to the external water pressure so breathing feels the same no matter how deep you go. With an open loop system you use air faster with depth because each breath is higher pressure and gets wasted when you exhale.
