I use Arch, by the way :D

…Also, I tried Ubuntu and Mint and Fedora and some others (ages ago). Didn’t like feeling like everything I wanted to do was stepping on the toes of some software that was trying to manage it for me, but not how I wanted or I just didn’t want it managed for me.

I tend to alternate between Arch and Gentoo every few years. Sometimes Arch feels like it’s making assumptions and doing things its way more than I want, but then Gentoo takes ages to install or update anything, is a bit more fiddly. I’ll probably go back or maybe try out Funtoo again but for now I don’t have a CPU that won’t melt if I try to compile things (laptop-only booooo v.v!!) sooo Arch for now. :3 🤷

Just more fad-worshipping foolishness, drooling over a buzzword and upset that others call it what it is. I want it to be over but I’m sure whatever comes next will be just as infuriating. Oh no, now our cursors all have to change according to built-in (to the cursor, somehow, for some reason) software that tracks our sleep patterns! All of our cursors will be obsolete (?!??) unless they can scalably synergize with the business logic core to our something or other 😴

There are mods for the first to make it more blaster-friendly! The impression I get is that blasters are much more effective in t he second game and are, it’s claimed (https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1606481748), viable even for Hard playthroughs.

I’m playing on Normal; it’s mostly reasonably easy. Paying a bit more attention to keeping my defences in order would probably serve me well but I’ve not hit any walls or anything like that.

Knights of the Old Republic 2 :3 I’m doing a blaster Jedi run. It’s pretty neat, actually :3 I think I’ll play the first game next. Kinda want to get back into City of Heroes if this laptop runs it well and maybe only if I can acquire at least one adventure-buddy-critter to play it with 🤔 🤷

It’s really not that hard v.v Caring to learn all’ the shenans, that’s the hard part. Same goes for Emacs. Archaic interfaces for the sake of archaism or “cool cred,” I say 🤷

I guess that makes sense. I’d be upset if critters kept associating me with boomers 😼 I don’t play those so I guess I just haven’t been around the term enough to get a feel for it.

Maybe it works if read as “games made by boomers?” … Yeah I have no idea how old anyone was/is. Time and I don’t really get along 🤷

Ooo, that’s interesting. I was looking at “Deery clarified that the game will be pulled in the next 60 days.” and thought that meant the publisher had exclusive distribution rights and was choosing to destroy the thing. From that site it looks like your interpretation is correct, which is good! Sometimes it’s good to be wrong 😅
