  • Heard this two generations straight already.

Maybe PCs. IF Microsoft brings out a cheap and form factor PC instead of a Xbox whatever they call it. And that’d be a good thing. Besides, a Xbox Series X and a PC is about the same thing except less configuration on the console, and that’s fine… Microsoft still makes games, they just bring it to PC as well as their console. We should applaud that.

But no, Consoles and PCs will be in gaming as long as people buy millions of them, and the good news is they don’t buy millions, they buy HUNDREDS of millions.

And Gen Z continue to buy them too. Because GenZ is 22-38. I hate the phrase but I feel like “OK Boomer” is actually appropriate here.

  • “I’ve done it too many times to repeat it again” Really?

Isn’t that kind of beneath you? That’s the type of shit someone would say on a playground.

Besides which the full complaint doesn’t appear to be available anywhere, but what has been shown has not said what you’re claiming.

However other people might have more knowledge about this situation than you seem to, besides which other pieces that have been revealed since the original complaint have shown it’s not just about the ability to circumvention technology. So you know… maybe read more, or stop acting like you have all the answers when you don’t?

On the other hand consider if it was exactly what you say it is, why isn’t Cemu and Ryujinx getting their own version of the note… hint: it’s not just about the circumvention…

  • Honestly… they don’t. I think Microsoft will eventually go to a PC pre-built with a OS on it. “But isn’t that a Console?” I mean I had an alpha, On my alpha I had a versions of windows that immediately booted into the Alpha program for ease of use. I stopped the alpha program and my wife uses it as a work computer (a weak one so she can pull up documents).

I don’t see a future where Microsoft makes a different OS than Windows, makes a hardware setup that isn’t off the shelve parts. MAYBE a specialized motherboard with a chip set. But ultimately, I think IF they make a “Console” it’s going to be a Windows machine with set specs that don’t change, and an OS that is just for gaming, maybe with some way to dockerize the software so you always get the same experience every time you run it.

Sony and Nintendo will keep making Consoles, for sure, but Microsoft has no benefit in making a console. And before someone says what I described is a console, Xbox can’t play PC games, what I’m describing is a windows machine playing windows software. When you make Xbox software currently you make software that ONLY can run on an Xbox… but why? You already are making a Windows build so you can ship a Windows version, so why not only make the windows version and have your console just be a windows machine in an OS that will giver players a consistent experience.

  • Does anyone have stats on Afghanistan’s opinions on America’s occupation right before we left? I imagine most of them wanted America to leave…

Though I’m now curious what their TRUE opinion was of the Taliban, because I see people wanting Communism back in Russia, I imagine people wanted the Taliban back instead of the Americans.

I’m sure at least 50 percent of them are like “Fuck no” (women), but when that group isn’t a huge part of the people guarding the country, I wonder if this was inevitable. Even if we somehow destroyed the entire Taliban, there would be another fundamental Islamic group who wanted to take over.

  • I’m not surprised.

Hell I’m pretty sure people are forgetting Ukraine is at war. This is why I hated the “They’re winning” “Russia is retreating” rhetoric. Because wars take a long time and a lot of people will die in them. People are cheering something they have no part in but by saying “Ukraine is winning” I think many of them also add “And now we can stop focusing on them”.

Part of it is the media diverting attention or focusing on what they want people to focus on (watch how coverage of different shootings are covered. If it’s a white guy with a death toll, it’s covered far more than if it’s a woman, a non-minority, or a low death toll. People will defend that by “It’s focusing on the higher death toll” But doesn’t focus on the coverage changes based on race, gender, or if it’s a gang/drug related shooting.

Part of this is click bait but I think part of it too is a narrative that’s formed. Which is why school shootings are covered more than random alleys and such. But the reason why isn’t the problem, it’s more how the media shapes the national narrative due to what they decide to focus on.

The other part is people have enough going on in their life that they can’t think of every little thing going on in the world, but since the news is covering this, I guess we’ll focus a bit on Afghanistan for a bit again.

Try running two applications that require different versions of a package on linux. fun

Like Linux might be the best for choosing when to update, but everytime I’ve HAD to update, it’s more because of a new hellish problem that I need to resolve, where as Windows/Apple works as expected.

Add to that the forced update on Windows are security updates. Linux doesn’t force security updates which means if you’re not keeping on top of it, your linux system has security issues that have hopefully been patched already, but you’re not on the latest.

Also same reason I’m ok with Android not allowing roll back, but I DO fucking mind that my 64 gig phone had 10 gigs of System space… and now has 22 gigs of system space because of updates/bloat.

And that’s also before I start talking about Python and assholes who don’t use virtual enviroments, and requirement files… Sorry sorry, not technically linux specifically, but god damn that’s a huge pet peeve.

And people still use python2!!!. Ok I’ll stop now,. But holy shit that bothers me.
