I guess hypothetically it doesn’t take long to teach someone how to use a gun, but based on my interactions with people who refuse to touch a gun or want to destroy any current legal firearm ownership legislation - teaching them to be proficient with a firearm will be an entirely different ballgame.

So much this. I reconnected with my dad after 10 years. We both can be stubborn. And all it took was sending an email. It took some time and things were a little awkward at first. But since, we’ve really made amends. He attended my wedding and now it’s to the point where we visit one another a handful of times a year. We talk on the phone at least monthly and text often. I’m really glad I decided to send that email that day. Can’t imagine if I hadn’t.

I used to work in the waste sector - been to a lot of dumps. Let me tell ya, public sector dumps were literal dumpster fires compared to their private counter parts. Inefficient. Years behind in technology. Weighted down by nepotism and typical government employees.

It was such a relief when I knew I was assigned to a private sector dump where things just fucking worked because people just let it work.

Fucking Amen. I can’t believe, especially non-religious people, still commit this barbaric and unnecessary act. But some people are still under the quaker influenced thinking that circumcision means cleaner, both my mother in law and my step mother think it’s “gross” to leave a child uncircumcised, with my mother in law going as far as to say “it just looks bad”.

Cool, she basically admitted she’s down to mutilate babies to satisfy a completely unreasonable aesthetic preference.

Sadly, I’m genuinely shocked at how many people have said things like “I got nothing to hide” when it comes to even basic intrusion of privacy by governments. It’s that kind of thinking that makes authorities think such actions like this should be tolerated.

Yeah it’s been a bit tight. Like surely, for $6 you could definitely get more food at the grocery store, but being that poor often involves not having the proper equipment or space to really cook anything. But yeah, our grocery store situation isn’t pretty right now. Fresh and healthy foods are expensive.

They’re very mediocre in Canada. But that said, they’re cheap as hell compared to their counterparts. And I’d argue, in many urban centers they definitely are feeding the homeless, just charging for it lol.

You can get two cheeseburgers, fries and a drink for $6. You can get a pack of nuggies for $3. You aren’t getting that sort of bang for buck at any other commercial fast food place around here. Something like that would easily cost close to $10 if not more at mcdonalds.

I always tell my wife if I was homeless, she’d find me begging for change at the intersection closest to a burger king.
