  • I remember having a text to speech program on my windows 98(?) PC that required me to type a long string of stuff into the command prompt. We had it written on an index card and I remember it taking forever to type in. Between starting up the computer, typing in the code, and having it actually load if typed correctly the first time, it was nearly a 30 minute endeavor just to laugh at a computer voice say “poopy butthole herpes”.

  • Or just use your aging sponges in a rotating lifecycle. I have 4 stages/sponges at one time that slowly get demoted as they age.

    1. New sponge only gets light jobs. Scrapped clean dishes, pans that just need the oil washed off.

    2. Middle stage wear is used for stuck on foods and generally more gross dishes.

    3. Not usable for dishes, but good for counter/stove tops.

    4. Dirty jobs. Nothing food related. Floors, bathrooms, use with disinfectants.

Everyone is choosing red because they think they would be rich, but would they?

Imagine having the knowledge, that you knowingly stepped back in time, and all of your memories are now not real. They won’t happen again unless you actually act exactly as you had before. No one believes anything you say because you are 6. You’re forced to go through school again at 6.

Let’s say you use your genius to progress quickly through school. Those sorts of kids become famous prodigies. You would end up on the talk show circuit with Ellen.

You would also know way more about your parents than you should at that age, and cause familial issues that would land you on Dr. Phil.

Imagine how torturous it would be to relive every moment, not being able to convince anyone of anything due to your age, unless you give up the fact that you were somehow sent back in time and know the future. Would you be able to convince your family without going insane? Would any government agency take qcute interest in your foresight? Imagine having to keep a level head while also going through puberty a second time.

How much will your presence affect the timeline? Maybe your first big move to get rich causes all subsequent moves to not exist. Maybe your parents hate you. Maybe it’s chaos theory. Maybe you end up taking a path away from opulence and become an addict due to the constant anxiety, regret and boredom. Maybe you become a nihilistic mess that drives you to a worse life than you had before.

I’d take the definite of $10M. I know what I would do with it right now. I know it would be good.

Edit: a downvote without a reply telling me how I’m wrong is really an upvote.

  • My wife’s doctor left the state hospital a few months ago. We didn’t find out until her prescription wasn’t sent to the pharmacy. Had to call the hospital to find out. They didn’t distribute the doctors patients, and they didnt even call in the prescriptions that only required a yearly check.

That’s the most tame story I have about that hospital and it’s the most luxurious hospital I’ve ever seen. It looks like a 4 star hotel. I considered suing them at one point but a family lawyer told me it would be too hard to prove fault, even though they were clearly at fault.

  • Not trying to downplay your plight at all, but in America this is also the case. Not only are doctors visits expensive to an extremely outrageous extent, but you might not be able to find one that can take you.

Waitlists for medical, dental, psychiatric etc doctors in my area are a minimum of 3 months long.

A few years ago I called the largest network of therapists in my area for an appointment. They told me I would be on a wait list and I probably wouldn’t hear back for 6 weeks. I got a call 6 months later.

Medical doctors and dentists are even worse. No wait lists at all. Emergency clinics full of low quality doctors and practitioners are popping up everywhere because most people don’t go to the doctors enough to still be an active patient. They don’t go enough to be seen because they can’t afford to go unless they are truly terribly sick. Those clinics charge far more, do far less, and care the minimal amount about patients.

A quick look in your ear? $150. You have a real problem? Well, they will charge you the $150 and then tell you to go to the hospital.

I have never heard of anyone in my area getting a dentist appointment in less than 3 months. To even get patient status takes a friend knowing that their doctor is taking new patients. And the chances are that if you can’t afford a doctor, your friends can’t either.

  • Or every other cheese, or yogurt, sour cream, etc…

It’s like everyone puts on their blinders. Every time you hear cultured, fermented, or the big ol’ stupid blanket term “probiotic”, it means bacteria, mold, or yeast. Every time you hear “active”, that means it’s live organisms.

We all love to eat bacteria, mold and yeast. It all depends on the type.
