Yeah this is exactly what people said about Biden dropping out of the race too.

Well it seems currently they’re supporting it, and currently they’re also neck and neck with Trump. Doesn’t it strike you as odd that the race is so close despite Trump having dozens of felonies, being so old, and being generally insane?
So your justification for supporting genocide is that it gives people better opportunities for career advancement? Well, now I’m convinced it’s a good thing.
Seems like that should be flagged for copyright infringement as well.
I get the sentiment but “Loki Skywalker” and “Jessica” are far from comparable even if Jessica would have been viewed in the same light 500 years ago.
That’s a hilarious take as they’re the largest polluter in the world and have terrible environmental regulations. They’re doing it to capture and control the market. How does dumping a bunch of cheap, disposable cars that they’ve shipped halfway across the world after building reduce pollution exactly?

Because China’s only apply to Chinese vehicles while the US’s apply to everyone in the industry including foreign brands. This increases competition. China’s goal is to reduce competition by putting competitors out of business so that they can recoup their investment by jacking up the prices once there is nobody left to stand in their way.
The subsidies they’re paying are completely unsustainable and is just a race to the bottom for both countries.
Outside of Tesla, the EV market in the US is already comprised of mostly foreign brands. These concerns aren’t about protecting the few American automakers (GM, Ford, Tesla) left, it’s about protecting the market for everyone, protecting all those union jobs, and preventing a bunch of companies going out of business because they can’t compete against unsustainable Chinese subsidies.

Looks like the instance is back up now!
Yeah I’m hoping something gets developed for the future (if it doesn’t already exist). Even if I lose my lemmy.one subscriptions, I’d prefer to be proactive with this new account for the next time this happens.
Hopefully the site will come back up eventually.
Still down and it was quite the feat to actually get a new account on a new instance in order to make a post. This is the 4th attempt and first to actually approve me.
Anybody know if there is a way to back up your subscription list? Having had to create a new account it’s a bit of a job to search and subscribe to a hundred+ communities by typing them all into a search box and subscribing individually.
Only $162,000 per room yearly or $13,700 per month. What a bargain! Looks like their math is off though. At $352 per night x 14k rooms, they’re about $500 million short of $2.3B but maybe that’s bribery money that isn’t counted toward housing these people.
According to Google, there are plenty of rooms at $100-$200 per night so why are they spending so much? Classic government ‘assistance’ where they make a big show of passing legislation and then barely any of the money alloted actually winds up where it’s supposed to and instead winds up in the pockets of some contracting company.
