I use KDE. I like how easy it is to customize pretty much everything. Like, if I want everything to be green, I can make everything green and no one can stop me.

Star Trek Social Club@startrek.website•What are some of the biggest continuity errors in Star Trek?English
4·1 month agoThis could be argued to be a thing related to the split from the original timeline, but the Kelvin version of Chekov is born four years earlier than his original timeline counterpart.

Games@lemmy.world•What’s your favorite video game that most people didn’t like ??English
3·1 month agoI love the game, but hate the part where they make you play through the original arcade Donkey Kong on a single life to get a Golden Banana. Then they had the audacity to make you do it again for the Nintendo Coin.

Star Trek Social Club@startrek.website•Paramount+ Serves Up Bizarre AI Slop Thumbnail For Star TrekEnglish
7·1 month agoIt’s not just Star Trek that they’re doing this with. My mom was browsing Paramount+ yesterday and the image for Ghosts UK had a character neither us had seen before.
Edit: The Spongebob icon is even worse. His face is just a mouth.
I’m using one of the Catppuccin ones right now. It comes in a lot of colors, so there’s always one that looks good with the theme I’m using.

Games@lemmy.world•What game has the weirdest/nicest/meanest fandom?English
14·2 months agoThe Animal Crossing fandom is all three at once.
Some players are super nice and helpful. They do things like giveaways, share when they have high turnip prices, and let others in their town to recruit moving villagers.
Then you also have people who literally charge entry fees for their island. They’ll use this to sell items and villagers to other players. I’ve even heard of people running scams this way. Even worse is the people who charge real money (this is generally frowned upon in most communities, but pretty lucrative on eBay and Etsy).

They removed all videos from non-verified accounts a few years ago. They reason I heard they did this was so they didn’t have to do as much work moderating uploads. One thing they had a big issue with was content posted without the consent of everyone involved (such as revenge porn).
