Hamas is evil, they’re a literal terrorist organization that uses fear and violence as their primary tools and methods. The situation Hamas operates in is absolutely nuanced but saying a terrorist organization is evil and supporting a terrorist organization makes you complicit in supporting evil is not an indicator of a simplistic world view, it’s stating an objective fact. If anything you’re the one expressing a simplistic worldview by ignoring the obvious truths of the situation and its various pieces in favor of obfuscating the parts of the situation that are self evident and clear.

What? Taoism has millions of practitioners and since it’s not an organized religion there’s probably millions more that are uncounted, myself included. Also a major part of the belief system is karma so we absolutely believe in standing up to evil in all of its forms because that’s how you reduce suffering and create more good into the world.

All religions are not shit. All organized religion is. You don’t ever hear of a Taoist committing these kind of acts.

If you wanna irrationally doom a burgeoning social media network with misguided ideals, that’s on you. Lemmy will never reach critical mass on part time unpaid devs. If you were really against your usage data being monetized you wouldn’t be using any social media as that’s a core part of how any major social network grows and thrives.

The devs are literally in this thread explaining why this contractually required language is in the app. There’s nothing “sneaky” going on, especially since the notification in OP’s post is so explicit. If you wanna share how you monetize an ad based experience without google or similar required language go right ahead.

Maybe take a step back and think about how using nazi analogies when discussing meat eaters is counterproductive to your beliefs and frigging offensive to large swaths of the global population who were affected by nazis. Those two things are not comparable and you need to do some self education if you think that’s okay or persuasive.

Some people really think being a good example of the product of their beliefs and being obnoxiously obtuse and argumentative about their beliefs are equally effective at persuading others to think like them.
