I saw a reference to it the other day but didn’t look further, it looks like the windows docker image can only run as athe same os as the base release

I wonder if the windows docker image could be of use?

For me and my (very - it may be down to just me logging in, but a couple of the communities have a few people that read/vote) small instance it comes down to feel (“Don’t be a dick”). Dave, the admin of lemmy.nz (about 80 users per week) has the same in their side board as their “Rule”. Dave and I set up our *nz instances in the same week and we chat often. He might not be quire as quick with the ban hammer as I might be though.

When you are this small even a small outside problem can have huge effects on your instance

Admin of a small instance, I have banned 2 accounts for another instance that were downvoting almost all content in a threads without any other interaction. They were being disruptive to the flow at the time, much like @ericjmorey@discuss.online describes.

Also, you put that text in quotes, but I don’t see it anywhere in that page, which is very misleading to do.

Yeah, that was the reason I switched from pfsense to opnsense about 4 years ago

it’s an i5 13xxx with 64GB ram and a HBA passed through to TrueNAS with 7 disks on it and a second network card passed through to OpnSense for WAN/LAN

I run Caddy, it has a few services exposed on https, and I also use it with adguard.

Adguard does the DNS rewrite and Caddy does the port map for internal, eg:

Proxmox:

• https://10.0.0.10:8006 becomes
• https://pve.DOMAIN.TLD

I then can have all my VMs/LXCs/Docker with god knows what port numbers pointed to in caddy

seems to have issues with chrome on a macBook; more reason to move to firefox?

Windows is better these days (or at least last time I did a drive swap on win 10)

I have taken bare metal linux/BSD and gone vm and back with disk passthrough without issue (Xeon => vm on Xeon => i5 13xxx => vm on i5)
