Reminds me of this:
Well, kinda. Vaccines are tools for “educating” your immune system. Classical vaccines generally work by providing “dead”/harmless examples of a particular infection, so that your immune system will recognize the real thing and stop it early, so it doesn’t develop to much. The immune system takes a while to get going, so “teaching” it in advance makes a huge difference against aggressive, quick acting infections.
The mRNA vaccines skip most of the “learning phase” and provide the body directly with the template to produce the right antibodies. And this is where the “cure”-part comes in. The whole problem with cancer is that it consists of a variation of your own cells. Which is why the immune system won’t target it. It’s not an infection or foreign. To your immune system it’s just another part of you. mRNA can be used to tell the immune system to attack it anyway, leveraging it against the cancer. But it requires a sample of the cells to be attacked, so as to make the right mRNA for the particular instance of cancer. So it’s not really useable as a preventative thing. At least not yet…
Well, the alternative is a good chance of dieing from cancer and/or radiation poisoning. So even if mRNA vaccines did actually mess with DNA, I’d take the chance for a permanent cure.
Yes, but we also have proportional representation in our parliaments. Making gradual ideological change realistic.
Personally I’ve had really good luck with the Netgear Nighthawk R7000 and R7800 models. They are supported by openWRT as well if you are into that. An issue might be that they are “only” WiFi 5 units. Some of the newer models in the Nighthawk series might be just as good, but i don’t have personal experience with those…
The suggestion of not owning games refers to having subscription-based access to them; as of yet only ever offered as a suggested alternative to purchasing games, which is still very much an option.
That is exactly the problem though. How long will it be until the subscription model is no longer an option but the only option? Because i would bet money on that being the actual goal.
A representation of everything that’s wrong with the modern tech industry…
Huh. Good point. Paint is so ambiguous to me that I didn’t even think about that. Kinda plays into the meme as well, funnily enough.
Just download the image, put it into Paint, select the right half with the selection tool and press delete. Hey presto!
TIL: the Brits call the sidewalk “pavement”. I thought this was completely unreasonable at first…
An order of magnitude more. It’s nearly half a terabyte.
Honestly; instead of trying to tighten emissions restrictions (perhaps beyond feasible levels?), the EU should have just moved this date closer…
Edit: I just realized: I wonder how the ban affects all the talk about synthetic and bio-fuels? Those are still based on internal combustion. Then again; although ideally CO2-neutral, they still emit NOx and particulate.
I feel that, at some point, the emissions standards get so restrictive, that it makes them impossible to practically meet. Making it a ban in all but name. I’m not familiar enough, with the original proposal for Euro7. But it seems like it might be at that threshold. The European Union needs to make up their mind, whether or not they want to allow combustion vehicles at all…
So; murder everyone who isn’t, or isn’t willing to become, Christian?
Seems awfully convenient…
With the amount of money, the Panama canal must make; why the flip do they not have backup pumps to hoist water back up into the reservoirs? Old timey dutch windmills would even work…
THIS JUST IN:
Researchers have found, staying in Ukrainian territory to be a leading cause of getting exploded, in young Russian males! More at 6…
No fucking way. I ain’t gonna’ die fighting for the inflated egos, of the morons in charge of the world powers and their ass-lickers. I’d gather up my loved ones and leave in a heartbeat, if my country started forced conscription. I’m not enough of a nationalist to die “for king and fatherland”, no matter how much i like this little country.
