While this is something I’d love to see I have a hard time fathoming how they could do this to any level of scale. They would have to pick a few games and probably a language or two.
I think GOG would be best suited to just offer cover art as a download and maybe build tools right into GOG galaxy to let you burn games to DVR.
But I do love GOG if I can I always buy through there store front. Sadly it’s rarer then I’d like

I know Tim Sweeney drives an Orange McLaren up vote this if you like me to key it …

Outside of my mom being an nefarious purpose there isn’t one here.
Rather to get a gauge of how bad and expensive it be if Steam just ceased to exist. Sounds like some people already had accounted for that

Solved !

I won’t lie despite the game having a wonderful world and amazing characters I didn’t LOVE actually playing it. The RTS part of the game I found very very frustrating. For me it was A LOT of trial and error. You have to treat the combat in the “missions” like an RTS. Build up your units and go after their “buildings”
For combat it self you can fight random things in the world which should help you nail down the rolling combat. I played on X360 back in the day so I don’t know how the experience is on PC.
This wasn’t by chance at all inspired by the Guess the game posts was it ?
People do this with operating systems as well. Neat stuff

I love the game. It’s for me the definitive way to play StarFox 64. I hope this open door for Velen to make true sequels.
I’ve had a rough few weeks and Everytime I play the game I leave with a smile on my face. It’s been a long while since any game I’ve played has done that.

The reality especially on here is you will run into three camps.
The people who already own a switch 2 (and mostly love it)
the people who don’t own one and won’t and think it’s absolute garbage
And those switch one owners who didn’t buy one but I generally see they didn’t like the switch 1 they bought.
If you loved what the switch did then an upgrade to a Switch 2 to me makes a lot of sense. Games like StarFox at least visually show what a huge leap the newer SOC can offer. And more games will be released over the next 7 or so years. Not to mention your old library of switch games generally runs a lot better.
If you’ve never owned a switch then it’s going to me to depend on what your looking for. If you want a PC or the freedom of a Pc then just get the PC. But be aware of the learning curve and upfront expenses. And yes that includes Steam Decks.
If you want a native Nintendo experience running any recent Nintendo software and want an easy to use hardware that’s generally less expensive then it’s comparables then I still think the Switch 2 is a good option.
Personally I love my Switch 2, coming from a Switch 1 it was a nice upgrade. I also game on PC but enjoy having a simple setup and native Nintendo experience. I’ve never been much of an accessories buyer. I primarily play with my Switch 1 pro controller.

If you had them downloaded yes. But if you didn’t and they disappeared?
Disc systems are mostly built like shit especially from the early 2000s but ROM based cart systems if well taken care of will run for a long long time.
Have my OG N64, Dreamcast and GameGear all run perfectly fine. Well my GG has a dead spider in the screen but it still runs.
PlayStation 1,2, Saturns , the first 2 Xbox’s might be a different issue all together.
But to me this is connected to the growing eshitification of the industry
Time to double down on retro gaming and buying second hand. Industry wants to burn I say let it.

We need physical media. We can rely \ expect companies to keep servers up forever. I am beyond livid ….
Game looks promising , especially for 10 dollars but it seems like the dev very intentionally made it 10 dollars because of how much work it needs. Considering picking it up …
