False. Using adblockers does directly impact creators’ CPM, which is the number used to determine how much they are paid.
It is good to use ad blockers on the general web for safety. But if there are creators you enjoy, it’s good to consider either supporting them directly or whitelisting them if you don’t have the financial means to do direct payments.
It’s not a black or white situation like you are framing it.
There are better ways to support creators, fuck Google.

No disrespect at all if you use any of these apps! I just like encouraging folks to whitelist their favorite creators or else fund them directly, as none of that content appears for free :)
I would be glad to use a system where I allocate a certain monthly expense amount, like 5 USD and that amount is evenly spread out to a select whitelisted content creators. Do you know a site or a software that does this?
I don’t think something exactly like this but since a great many creators are on Patreon you could probably do some quick maths to set up a few recurring payments that total 5 USD :)

It could be that a high amount of people don’t really read the post’s body or maybe some people think creating vids should be free of cost. I can understand them in some way, but as much as I hate corpos, atleast some people should support some of their content creators or favorite FOSS software etc, IF they have stable financial stability.
EDIT: What I mean is the meme can be a bit misunderstandable.
I genuinely think a lot of people just think YouTubers exist out of the void or something, that’s where the misunderstanding springs from :) fortunately a lot of people get it it’s just a misconception that >50% still have.
