I’ve had a cat come home with pigeons and a small snake. One thing for sure it wasn’t a gift for me. He comes home with his pray so stray cats from the neighborhood don’t steel his catch.

Yea I think that gift thing is crap personally. Pretty sure my cat’s thought process is more like: “This toy was fun, then it died and the fun stopped. You there, make it fun again.”

Depends on the cat. Sometimes it genuinely is gifting but sometimes they bring you stuff like this because they think you’re a dumb hairless cat that doesn’t know how to hunt properly.

We had mice in my old apartment after bringing me like 4 dead ones my oldest cat that I got as a kitten from my cousins barn cats pointed me to a live one it had cornered. Lil fucker sits up next to it, looks down at it and meows repeatedly. Doesn’t stop until I kill the mouse myself. After that he never brought me another mouse.

Wow, that’s cool. Like he wanted to be sure you can take care of yourself.

My friend who used to live with me would feed my cat from her plate, which turned him into a greedy pain in the arse who tries to eat everything. Took a while of me gently moving his head away for him to stop immediately trying to eat everything on my plate as soon as I put it down. He went from having no interest in human food at all to full Garfield.

I had a cat that brought me bats. Like the flying mammal kind. I did not know that was a thing. And he was definitely proud.
