Shit. I bought this game a couple months ago and played through it in a weekend. I found it pretty meh, a worse version of the first game, but I played through it.
I honestly think it’s fine that there are no guns in the game. It makes sense from a lore standpoint, and you really don’t need any to kill anything. After a certain point, volatiles really do just become damage sponges for resources, that you need to really force the game to keep the chase going.
I just felt like DL2 didn’t have the same love or polish DL1 had.
I thought the original game was incredible but I never made it all the way through 2. Hard to put my finger on what the issue is but nothing ever managed to recreate the same feeling of desperately running through the night with monsters got on my tail that I got from the first one.
