    Growing up on acreage that used to be an orchard, I would spend my autumn days walking around with an aluminum bat, smashing every single apple with wasps or hornets feeding upon it. I miss those days.

      Kids can be dumbasses. And needlessly cruel. Been there myself. I sometimes would like to slap the shit out of kid me for stupid things I did.

        Surprisingly not. They were usually disoriented from eating fermented apple. Aggressive enough to fly around angrily when you came near, but never quote coordinated enough to land a sting. I revived far more stings from trying to catch honeybees in jars, which I feel bad about in retrospect and definitely deserved. I never intended to hurt or kill the honeybees, though. Just the hornets.
