The Reddit wikis were also useful at one point like for each lemmy community.
Im learning to make edm visuals on tiktok using primarily Blender. hardlysleep.ing on ig/rednote, etc.

I guess the self hosted open source aspect was more appealing. Servers could have more control over how their content is displayed than they do going through fandom. Being able to integrate wiki sections into posts in lemmy/mastodon could be cool. Reddit does have a wiki, and lemmy being a reddit clone, It would make sense to have a wiki for each community just for that reason. I remember that being useful when I frequented Reddit.

Fandom wikis are pretty exclusive to their fandom tho, like they don’t have much overlap with each other? Different instances would be for different fandoms. If you mean multiple wikis being made for the same group, that is already a thing.

Except on piefed

Should’ve been more clear, but I know we all like the concept of the fediverse, I more meant specific apps or services, like if you enjoy using the front end alexandrite (not sure if thats still a thing) or are glad Mastodon added quote posts

Im less anti ai with local models using something like hermes, i like the idea of chat with your computer to get it to do stuff when not sitting at it, not that ive actually used it that way or thought of a usecase yet lol, I used it to make a web page using threejs and launch it, all I could think was damn, in the time I spent waiting I could’ve actually learned what I’m doing. I was just curious if it could, lowkey made something more decent than I probably would in a few days, demotivating af, forgot how much worse it is when the AI actually suceeds. At least when it fails you don’t lose the motivation to learn.

An idle fediverse mmo would be cool, like aqworlds where it was just a chatroom with set dressing basically

Something that lets us create our own profiles like myspace would be nice, using threejs or some sht to allow for interactive experiences

I am a bit disappointed by all the federated social media kinda being boring clones of existing things instead of branching out more. More customizability would be nice. Just got Marvis for apple music and I really like the idea of setting smart rules for my social media feeds. (Creating your own algorithm) Cyberspace.online is a pretty interesting looking alt take on social media, not open source tho I don’t think.

Same with legion go s, was great on sale for 400 (440 with tax), now its near 1000 retail, over with tax, great stable secondary computer
nomachine is an alternative

I have hella hardcovers I don’t read because the lighting always feels off, reread a few digitally lol, obviously its more comfortable and convenient to move around anywhere. In ideal conditions paper is best still.

infinite complications, like needing good lighting, can’t have dirty hands (I’ve always snacked while reading all my childhood books got hot cheeto dust on them, my tablet and phone are squeaky clean)

Made the mistake of checking the reddit thread, it looks fun, ppl fr hate anything marvelesque that isn’t edgy all the time I guess

I miss the og system of getting a reward each game.
Don’t artists make like no money off streams with the bulk being from tours and merch?

A local bulletin board basically would be nice if thats what this is, not using facebook
Edit: Idk how I wrote “board” as “born”
Or I want the hardware/software I paid for to work
Or integrated with lemmy communities like reddit wiki
