Ah… so let me get this straight. So instead of being poor in a capitalist country, you’d rather be poor in a communist country?

Edit: JFC dude. Why are there so many of these types on Lemmy

Save your mental health, just block them once they are clearly identified, it’s not worth the effort at all.

But there’s so many of them lol. It’s exhausting. I don’t know what’s worse, the far left or the far right. They’re both incredibly annoying

Truth. I mean, don’t get me wrong, I’d love to see a society where nobody lords over anybody, but I’m not crazy enough to think I can achieve that by burning everything down or putting a dictator in charge.

On the contrary, I consider a classless society to be the social Holy Grail that’s probably only achievable with Star Trek-tier technology. I’m sure it’ll happen eventually, but not today, and that’s okay.

Much easier to pull off government like that with a smaller population. Things get a bit more complicated with several hundreds of millions or billions.

People would also have to be altruistic by nature as well but just go to a grocery store and see how many shopping carts are not put back!

All he’s saying is “America bad” and then saying he wouldn’t want to live anywhere else. You should look up what whataboutism is

Really? Are you really genuinely ignorant or you simply can’t fathom that non-US people not only exist but also lead happier lives?

Please don’t forget that the vast majority of non-US people lead significantly sadder lives.

The two most populous countries in the world are China and India, in that order, and I haven’t heard many good things about the standard of living in either of them.

No, he’s not. He’s talking about supposedly-socialist people in the USA who idealize vaguely socialism related countries like Russia or China, and think they would have a better life in these countries.

I agree, but I believe they don’t like being called like that and they think they are defending socialism.

vaguely socialism related countries like Russia or China

The Russian Federation isn’t socialist in any way. China has a Socialist Market Economy, that’s true, but nobody idolizes Russia nor do they believe they would live a better life there.
