What part of the world does this idea come from? Men in general definitely don’t complain about pain more than any other gender in my region. I have noticed a gender difference between taking a nap, walking it off, and taking drugs. I could probably generalize a bit about who prefers rest, who prefers to grin and bare it, and who prefers to try to medicate it.

I’ve heard this a lot in the US. It’s usually just said in a teasing manner, not seriously in a “going to impact the care you received at the hospital” manner.

It’s enough that people make memes about it at least.

Yes. It’s making fun of people like me who are completely incapacitated for a day when I get a migrane/fever but get hit by some random thing and start bleeding and just shrug it off.

Women get lots of practice being miserable and carrying on with their menstrual cycles, while guys like me generally feel fine for monthes at a time, with normal aches and pains, then just fall apart with the sniffles.

It’s a relatable truth/joke in alot of relationships.

My grand mother said kidney stones are way worse than giving birth.

As a human equipped with testicules, I can confirm that (in my opinion) kidney stones are indeed way worse than getting hit in the balls.

All genders can get them. So all genders can suffer excruciating pain. If you want to test it out simply start drinking lots of tea and water containing a high quantity of minerals (that’s not the same as “mineral water”), you can thank me later after you asked someone to “please hit me in the head with a shovel so I pass out” because of the pain.

I ate ice cream too fast and when I held my head and said “oooo” a nearby mom said that’s how she felt during labor.

    Ever had testicular torsion?

Ever had a doctor attempt to untwist the testicular torsion without anesthesia? There isn’t a strong enough pain med to prevent or help with that sort of pain.

Yes attempt. They did see how much that didn’t work and got me into surgery.

I stubbed my toe the other day and it felt worse than getting your head chopped off

      Let me fix that…

“I stubbed my toe the other day and it LITERALLY felt worse than getting your head chopped off”

To be fair, if a guillotine is used, the blood pressure drop is probably going to knock you out before the searing pain prior to death kicks in, so a stubbed toe could arguably feel worse

So like… Are people thinking this is serious, and not recognizing the fact that it’s pointing out ridiculous arguments that some Bad-faith argumentatives like to make?

I’ve heard plenty of people in all seriousness say women don’t understand the pain of getting hit in the balls, but like… Nobody sane and rational actually believes that.

If you really DO think women, who have ENTIRE HUMANS SHOCED OUT OF THEIR VAGINA, can’t understand pain? Yes, getting hit in the balls hurts. I’ve been hit more times than I care to remember.

If anyone really DOES think women don’t get that kind of searing pain, look up “Childbirth perineal tear” and promptly lose all confidence in your argument.

Lol, this was one of those memes that I almost didn’t post because it’s playing off of a stereotype for men (taken to an absurd degree for humor), and I thought it might be interpreted as serious criticism.

I was banking on this audience’s love for self-deprecating jokes outweighing its discomfort with touching on gender stereotypes. 83% upvotes / 17% down is probably about right.

Usually also the people who laughed will just upvote and move on, where the people who are offended will downvote and then post a comment

I don’t think that getting kicked in the balls is even that painful. It’s very debilitating like getting punched in the diaphragm, but in my opinion something like dislocating your patella is higher in the pure pain level.

Women have modern medicine and painkillers but the only repreive men have in their suffering is to be waited on hand and foot by their SO.

I ate some Mexican food with a bunch of jalapenos and it gave me the worst monkey claw. I almost passed out from the pain. I could have used an epidural for those waves of ass labor but there I was alone on the throne.

I had a ruptured appendix. I was told by women that it is almost similar to labor pains in terms of pain level. It felt like someone was kicking me in the stomach every 2 seconds.
